Jinka Agricultural Research Center
Specialized in arid and semi-arid agricultural research, focusing on drought-resistant crops and pastoralist farming systems.
Overview
The Jinka Agriculture Research Center (JARC), established in 1997, is strategically located to address the unique agricultural challenges of the lowland and midland agro-ecological zones. Its research initiatives are vital for the communities in Ari and South Omo zones, focusing on key crops like maize, sorghum, and cotton, along with livestock improvement and small-scale irrigation.
JARC is committed to generating and disseminating technologies that promote sustainable agricultural growth and enhance the market competitiveness of farmers and pastoralists in the region.
